Ich seh nicht zurück.
Ich brauche es nicht.
Was hinter mir liegt,
verliert sein Gewicht.
Ich verachte den Staub
der vergangenen Zeit.
Kein Schatten hält mich.
Ich bin längst bereit.
Wenn das Gestern mich lähmt,
schneid ich es fort.
Kein Bild bleibt zurück.
Kein Name. Kein Wort.
Wenn das Gestern mich nährt,
trink ich es leer.
Ich nehme sein Feuer.
Dann brauch ich’s nicht mehr.
KEIN GESTERN.
NUR JETZT.
NUR ZUKUNFT.
VORWÄRTS.
KEIN GESTERN.
KEIN ZURÜCK.
NUR DER WILLE.
NUR MEIN BLICK.
Ich weine nicht.
Ich trauere nie.
Ich knie nicht nieder
vor Erinnerung. Nie.
Was mich bindet,
das töte ich.
Was mich stärker macht,
das nehme ich.
Das Gestern ist mein Sklave.
Niemals ist es mein Herr.
Es dient meinem Willen.
Nicht weniger. Nicht mehr.
Ich beute es aus,
wenn es Kraft in mir weckt.
Ich reiße es heraus,
wenn es Zweifel versteckt.
KEIN GESTERN.
NUR JETZT.
NUR ZUKUNFT.
VORWÄRTS.
KEIN MITLEID.
KEINE REUE.
NUR MEIN WILLE.
NUR DAS NEUE.
Was war, das war.
Und schön, dass es war.
Doch es ist nicht mein König.
Es ist nicht mehr da.
English — No Yesterday#
I don’t look back.
I don’t need it.
What lies behind me
loses its weight.
I despise the dust
of times gone by.
No shadow can hold me.
I have long been ready.
If yesterday paralyzes me,
I cut it away.
No image remains.
No name. No word.
If yesterday nourishes me,
I drink it dry.
I take its fire.
Then I need it no more.
NO YESTERDAY.
ONLY NOW.
ONLY THE FUTURE.
FORWARD.
NO YESTERDAY.
NO TURNING BACK.
ONLY THE WILL.
ONLY MY GAZE.
I never cry.
I never mourn.
I do not kneel
before memory. Never.
Whatever binds me,
I kill.
Whatever makes me stronger,
I take.
Yesterday is my slave.
It is never my master.
It serves my will.
Nothing less. Nothing more.
I exploit it
when it awakens strength in me.
I tear it out
when it conceals doubt.
NO YESTERDAY.
ONLY NOW.
ONLY THE FUTURE.
FORWARD.
NO PITY.
NO REGRET.
ONLY MY WILL.
ONLY THE NEW.
What was, was.
And it was good that it was.
But it is not my king.
It is no longer here.
The idea#
“Kein Gestern” refuses both nostalgia and ritualized regret. The past has no automatic authority: if it feeds the present, its fire will be taken; if it paralyzes, it will be cut away. Memory is demoted from master to instrument.
The language is deliberately absolute—no yesterday, no return, only now, future, and will. That severity makes the small concession near the end especially important: what was, was, and it was good that it was. The song does not need to deny beauty in order to deny beauty the right to rule.
Forward motion here is less optimism than discipline. Dust, names, images, pity, and remorse are stripped away until only agency remains. The result is unsettling and energizing at once: liberation imagined not as healing the past, but as ending its jurisdiction.
