Lyrics
I waited years,
I hid the tears.
For one soft light,
Inside your night.
I took the blame,
I lost my name.
Your silence grew,
Cold and true.
I brought you warm,
Through every storm.
I poured my heart,
Into your dark.
The years went by,
No change, no sign.
A darker sky,
The same old line.
You stayed the same,
You burned my name.
You strike again,
I fall in pain.
You stayed the same,
You strike again.
Ash falls from my name,
I choke in pain.
I waited years,
I lost the tears.
No dawn became,
Only your flame.
The idea#
Years of waiting, tears hidden, one soft light sought inside another’s night. Blame taken, name lost; silence growing cold and true. Warmth poured through every storm into their dark—and years pass with no change, only darker sky, the same old line. They stay the same; they strike again; ash falls from the speaker’s name.
Dark, euphoric, nocturnal vocal trance can make masochism sound almost holy. Here the holiness frays: no dawn became, only their flame. Devotion has become a one-way climate system.
I hear a portrait of love that mistook endurance for intimacy, and finally names the asymmetry without yet knowing how to leave it.
