Hollow in light - Emotional Trance

Whispers fold around the spine,
Like smoke that used to be a name.
Eyes still open, but not mine,
A hollow shell inside the flame.

Footsteps echo through the bone,
Every sound a hidden threat.
I learned to smile like polished stone,
To not exist — and not forget.

Don’t speak.
Don’t move.
Don’t breathe too loud.
The silence is watching.

I gave the shape you needed,
Broke my will into your hands.
I learned to read your weather,
Built my self on shifting sands.

Still, something hides beneath it —
An ember, soft and small…
It murmurs without language:
This was never mine at all.

In the hush, the shadow folded.
The roots drank silence deep.
A shape forgot its edges
and drifted into sleep.

The wind mistook it vanishing
for breaking into dust—
but even lost forms shimmer
when no one’s left to trust.

“Don’t absorb him…”

I trusted hands that shook the cage,
Called the keeper a friend.
But love should never come in rage,
Or burn you just to mend.

I wore the mask to keep you calm,
Let silence pass for peace.
But now I see the quiet harm,
And beg this shape to cease.

In stillness I remember —
There’s more than fight or flight.
Somewhere deep, I’m waking.
Still hollow.
But full of light.
