Based on Theodor Körner’s 1813 poem “Schwertlied”, re-imagined as a dark trance hymn to iron will, wrath, and eternal battle.
Du Schwert an meiner Linken,
im Sturm dein kalter Glanz.
Im Herz die Feuer sinken,
im Blut der alte Tanz.
Die Nacht ist mein Gefährte,
die Klinge spricht mein Eid.
Aus Stahl wird meine Erde,
aus Zorn wird Ewigkeit.
Wenn Feind heraufgezogen,
zerreißt der Himmel rot.
Ich lache seinen Bogen,
und tanze mit dem Tod.
O Schwert, mein schwarzes Zeichen,
mein Herz aus Eisenblut.
Kein Gott wird mich erweichen,
kein Feind mir nimmt den Mut.
The idea#
Körner’s sword-song reborn as dark trance: Du Schwert an meiner Linken, cold gleam in the storm, fire sinking in the heart while blood remembers an older dance. Night as companion; steel as earth; wrath stretched toward eternity.
Less subtle patriotism than iron theology. The blade speaks the oath; no god softens the rider; courage is Eisenblut—iron-blood—when the sky tears red and death becomes a dance partner. Driving uplift here means forward motion through hostility, not soft light.
