The idea#
Immersion as plea: you are the sea, I want the tide to keep me, and you keep pushing me back. The paradox is sharp—salvation that feels like rejection, a love that thinks it is saving while the other person breaks from being held at a distance.
“Why don’t you take me?” is almost childish in its directness, which makes it land harder. Better to sink in deep blue than stand alone with no one true: desire for annihilation as intimacy. Salt, ghost of touch, the beloved as storm that keeps form while the speaker becomes castaway.
Numetal weight and nocturnal electronic haze both fit this kind of drowning. The song doesn’t resolve the want; it keeps reaching for a depth that refuses to close over the head.
