The idea#
Sigurd rides through fire and snow, and the chorus does not negotiate: Blut des Drachen, curse of the jaws, hand of steel, heart of stone. Gothic metal returns the Nibelung story to muscle and chant—Fafnir’s sleep is not mercy but the quiet after the blade.
The German lines hit harder than their English shadow, all short blows and ritual repetition. Gold is cursed; greed burns out; the serpent dies so the hero can bloom into something colder. Victory here tastes of blood-path, not applause—myth as percussion.
