The idea#
Tomorrow’s ghost is the true antagonist here: the polite postponement of love, of crossing the line, of living while the clocks still work. The lyric watches hours fall like broken glass and hears time laugh “like a cruel man,” old starlight too weak to answer. What remains is not melodrama so much as an indictment of the deferred life—the chance spent on later, until later is none.
Dark trance, with its uplifting lift against a shadowed key, feels like the right weather for that verdict. The drive is urgent because the clock is already speaking your name; the euphoria, if it comes, is edged, a “now or never” that refuses comfort. Forgiveness appears only for the time one failed to live—not as absolution, but as a last, hard clarity before the dark takes what was never given.
