The name is easily misremembered. It is not Vidna Obama, and it is not the name of a band in the ordinary sense. Vidna Obmana—often styled vidnaObmana—was the principal pseudonym used by Belgian musician Dirk Serries from 1984 until he closed the project in 2007. The phrase is generally translated from Serbian as “optical illusion.” Serries chose it because it described what the music did.
